Sourcify: Towards Safer Contract Interactions for Humans

This talk discusses the importance of decentralized open source code verification and the usage of NatSpec or other forms of rich documentation/code commenting. Currently, building sensible blockchain applications that humans can understand and safely interact with is hard. The user experience of dapps can be enhanced today by leveraging the power of open source, increasing awareness and giving more transparency on what users are actually doing when interacting with code on the blockchain, i.e. when signing a transaction. This can be achieved by publishing the source code to a decentralized repository alongside with using metadata files and NatSpec, which helps to translate hex strings into human-readable language. Sourcify is an open initiative to bring those tools and best practices to more devs. This talk gives an update on the Sourcify initiative, how developers can use it, and why it matters.
